About the Cayman Watercolours Calendar
What We Do
Cayman Watercolours Charitable Trust (“CWCT”) was formed as a charitable trust in April 2012. CWCT has produced a quality paper calendar for 16 years and has donated in excess of CI$1.2 million to local charities through the proceeds of calendar and original artwork sales. CWCT was the brainchild of Julia Hedges to whom we are grateful for her vision and energy to make this calendar project a reality. This annual charitable project has continued to be organized and produced by Caroline Courtis, Tim Courtis and Kerrie McMillan. CWCT is a true charitable partnership which donates 100% of all proceeds to charity.
Our Partners & Community
How We Do It
1. Artists
- Local artists donate quality watercolour artwork each year to be used in the production of the calendar
- Through the years, CWCT is proud to have partnered with accomplished professional artists, local recreational artists as well as talented student artists from local high schools
2. Vendors
- Local shop owners donate their shelf space and time to sell the calendars with no mark-up, with 100% of the proceeds from each calendar being returned to CWCT
- Without the participation of our numerous vendors such as Red Sail Sports, Next Chapter, The Book Nook and Kennedy Gallery we would not be able to sell over 3,000 calendars each year
3. Corporate Sponsors
- For the 2027 calendar, CWCT is very fortunate to partner with Conyers, Sixtees Properties Developments, North End Re and Cayman Islands Reinsurance Association whose sponsorship pays for the printing, shipping and production costs of the calendar
- Without such generous support CWCT would not be able to donate 100% of all proceeds to our local charities
4. Volunteers
- CWCT is operated by volunteers: Tim Courtis, Trustee, Kerrie McMillan, Trustee and Caroline Courtis, Treasurer
- The organisation of obtaining artwork, producing and distributing the calendar is the responsibility of CWCT's volunteers
5. Charities
- CWCT has had a long-standing relationship with Jasmine and NCVO as the charities that receive the proceeds from calendar sales and auction proceeds
- Both Jasmine and the NCVO assist in the sale of calendars, making this a complete community partnership to raise funds for these most deserving charities
